The Dollar strengthening has resumed currently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, slipped 0.1% on Friday as Labor Department showed consumer prices surged last month at 6.8% annual growth rate

EUR/USD joined GBP/USD’s continued climbing Friday while the National Institute of Economic and Social Research reported the UK economy continued to grow at a steady rate in the three months ending in November. Both euro and Pound are lower against the Dollar currently. USD/JPY continued sliding Friday while AUD/USD reversed its retreating with both the Australian dollar and yen lower against the Greenback currently.

Futures on US equity benchmarks are advancing currently with 10-year US treasury yields up at 1.496%. The Wall Street advanced Friday as investors reacted with calm to inflation report indicating US consumer prices rose in November at the highest rate in more than 39 years. The three main US stock benchmarks recorded daily gains ranging from 0.6% to 0.95%.

European stock indexes are up currently after retreating on Friday led by oil and gas shares. Asian indexes are mostly rising today with Nikkei leading gains as confidence among Japan's large services sector firms improved in the three months to December and core machinery orders rose in October.

Brent is extending gains currently. Price rose Friday despite oil services company Baker Hughes report US drillers added oil and gas rigs for sixth time in seven weeks. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures added 1% and is higher currently. Brent crude rose 1% to $75.15 a barrel on Friday, posting its biggest weekly gain since late August.
